Rollyo

Number 12.
This was a fun exercise. I liked Kathryn's idea of making a search roll for kid friendly websites. I made a search roll for ones that my kids could use to search for activities and games that were on appropriate websites for them. It would be fun to do one for favorite places for online shopping and recipies too. It is nice to have all the websites you like to use, all in one place. This is very useful, but I am also all for a regular old Googgle search too! I also didn't like the ads that were on Rollyo. Like Kathryn mentioned, a kid could click on one of these and unknowingly get to someting that is inappropriate for them. I had fun with this though! Here is a link for mine. http://www.rollyo.com/search.html?q=Try+it+out...&sid=569337&x=7&y=9

Library Thing

Number 11.
This one was so fun! I loved looking around in LibraryThing, and all it has to offer. I did set up an account there, here is the link. http://www.librarything.com/home/jennifer1018 I added some of my favorite books, obviously not all that I have read! I also looked at Goodreads too, and liked it a lot, here is the link to that. http://www.goodreads.com/review/list/2455993. I think these are great tools to keep track of what we have in our own collections, what we have read, or want to read. When I fugure out the widget thing, I will put that on my blog too!

Image Generators

Number 10.
This was great fun! I loved Image Chef, which is where I made this. It was easy to post to my blog too. The Generator Blog was great, and had some really clever ideas! The Letter James site would be a great place to make calendars, and FD Toys has so many ways to create new things with your pictures. This was a great experience, and I am going to share it with friends.

Blogs and/or News Feeds

Number 9.
I am sure that I am the only one that found this to be overwhelming. I had no idea just how much information was out there. I liked Technorati, and found it easy to use their blog directory, and found some funny parenting blogs. I loved the one titled Rocks in the Dryer! The other search tools, Topix, and Syndic8, were confusing to me, and had way too much information. The layouts of the sites were not as easy to look at either. This has been a great experience though, because it helps to at least be familiar with these tools. I am going to continue to use Technorati to search for blogs that might be fun to read.

RSS Feeds

Number 8.
Yeah! Where did the month of May go? Well, hopefully I can get all caught up this month. So, RSS feeds. I like the idea of having all of my favorite sites in on place, and just logging into it to get the daily scoop there. I did sign up for a bloglines account, but I had a hard time finding 10 things to add. Maybe that means I am a boring person? It was fun to look at the to 1000 that they had, and then I just picked from there. I did like this activity.

Technology

Number 7.
Blog about anything technology related. It is so amazing to me how much we rely on technology. What would we do if we had no mobile phones or internet? Now you can get the internet on your phone! Who doesn't love paying their bills online? It seems like it has made the world much smaller. We can access so many things whenever we want. I love that we can be connected with friends with e mail, and mobile phones, especially when things are busy, but sometimes it is nice to just be with those people, talk to them face to face, or to get a letter in the mailbox on your street! Technology has made things a lot easier though, and it is so exciting to be learning more about it.

More Fun With Flickr

Here we are on number 6!
I used the framer feature on the Flickr toys. There are so many ways to have fun with your pictures! I really enjoyed this activity!
